Browsing the website
The editorial pages do not require an account. The site’s own application code does not include analytics, advertising trackers, fingerprinting or third-party embeds. Images, styles and scripts are requested from the site rather than remote image or font providers.
Serving a website necessarily involves technical requests. The hosting infrastructure may process IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information and security-related logs to deliver and protect the service. This static application does not itself provide access to those logs or determine the hosting provider’s retention settings.
The local message tool
The contact tool processes the details you enter inside your browser to construct a plain-text preview. It does not send those entries to a server, save them in localStorage or submit them to an email service. The page holds the working text while it is open. Browser autofill, page restoration and device-level features may retain information independently of the tool.
Choosing Copy writes the prepared text to your device clipboard after your action and any browser permission checks. Clipboard history or device synchronisation may retain it. Choosing Download creates a text file on your device. You control where you keep, share or delete that file.
Email you choose to send
An email link opens your email application; it does not send anything automatically. If you send an email, your provider and the receiving email service process the message, sender address and associated metadata. Include only what is needed for your question or correction.
Correspondence received by the site may be used to respond, investigate an editorial issue, maintain relevant records and prevent misuse. Where applicable, these activities rely on legitimate interests in handling reader correspondence and maintaining the site, or on legal obligations. Messages should be retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and any applicable legal requirements; there is no automated deletion schedule in this static website.
Sharing and external websites
The site’s application code does not sell reader data or send contact-tool entries to advertising services. Hosting and email providers may process information necessary to provide their services. Information may also need to be disclosed where lawfully required.
When you follow a link to another website, that operator’s privacy practices apply. We do not control external sites, your email provider, browser extensions or device settings. The location and safeguards of any service-provider processing depend on the providers used.
Your choices and requests
You can browse without entering contact details, avoid the clipboard and download functions, and delete any files you create. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, or to object to certain processing. These rights can be subject to conditions and exceptions.
Direct privacy questions or rights requests to [email protected]. Provide enough context to identify the correspondence concerned, but do not send identity documents unless an appropriate verification method is agreed. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Cookies and changes
See the separate Cookies page for the distinction between cookies, local storage and locally prepared files. This notice should be read again if the site’s features or service providers change. Material changes to data collection require corresponding updates to the published information.
